Getting there
BY CAR
Exit Modena Nord
Take the Tangenziale North (ring road) towards Bologna, proceed as far as exit 7 Viale del Mercato, go straight to it and at the intersection turn left into Strada Nazionale Canaletto Sud. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and take the overpass. At the next roundabout (Piazzale Bruni) take the 3rd exit and continue along Viale Caduti in Guerra. At the second traffic lights turn right and take Via San Giovanni del Cantone. At the end of the road turn left into Corso Canal Grande (beginning of limited traffic area).
Exit Modena Sud
Turn right at the crossroad and follow the road signs for Modena, taking the SS623 Via Vignolese. Pass through San Donnino and San Damaso and continue until the roundabout. Take the 1st exit for the SS12 Via Nuova Estense and go straight to it until the next junction on the right towards Centro. Immediately turn into the roundabout and take the 3rd exit. Continue along via Emilia Est for about 2. 5 km until the last traffic light before Largo Garibaldi, turn right into via Ciro Menotti and at the first traffic light turn left into via Tagliazucchi. Carry on along via Grimelli and via San Giovanni del Cantone. At the end of the road turn left into Corso Canal Grande (beginning of limited traffic area).
BY TRAIN – Railway station Modena
Walking from the station
At the exit cross Piazza Dante and proceed along the street perpendicular to the station. Go past the traffic lights, turn left into Viale Monte Kosica and immediately turn right in Via Palestro and follow it to the end. At the crossroads turn right into Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Go straight and at the end turn left into Corso Cavour. Pass the Military Academy, turn right and carry on along Corso Canal Grande until you reach number 85 on your right.
By bus from the station
From the square in front of the station take line 4 direction Latina or line 11 direction Zodiaco and get off at the stop Canal Grande library.
PARKING
The Pavarotti Opera House is located just inside the restricted traffic zone. Public paid parking is available 24 hours a day and is just a few minutes’ walk.
